Water Birth

Many women request what has become commonly known as a “water birth.”
The warm water can help relieve some of the discomfort during labor and assist the mother in staying relaxed.

Deborah’s birthing cabins utilize flash water heaters which permit a continuous stream of hot water when filling the tub.

A mother in labor may benefit from soothing effects of water, which may or may not include the baby being born in or under water. Some mothers may labor in the birthing tub, then move out of the tub on to a bed, a birthing stool, or some other place about the home for the actual delivery. Other women may give birth in the water, and then move the baby skin to skin.

In the above image, labor came on quickly, and the tub was only partially filled at the time of delivery.

Checking the heartbeat.
