In the spring of 2016 Deborah spent a month working with Ibu Robin Lim and the Bumi Sheat Birth Center in Bali, Indonesia.
Ibu Robin Lim received the prestigious Hero of the Year Award from CNN for her work as a midwife and as an exemplary role model of care and service for those in need, from The Bumi Sehat Birth Center and Clinic, to emergency aid after devastating earthquakes in Haiti and Nepal.
Although Deborah and Robin had met briefly many years earlier at a midwifery conference, their bond of friendship grew strong when they were called to work together in Central America in January of 2016.
Later in the spring, Deborah flew to Bali, joining Robin in the creation of a new project, Awakening Birth, a new, informational web site and a series of podcasts hosted by Robin and Deborah, for mothers seeking natural child birth.
